Looking at Mount Fuji 'can cure depression'

Certainly seems likely to me. Whenever I see Mount Baker my spirits lift - but that is probably because the weather is better. For much of the time my favourite mountain is hidden by murk and gloom. It becomes visible when the clouds lift and the smog clears out for a while.

Beautiful mountains. I climbed Mt Fuji back in 2002, and the view from the top is almost as good. However there is a dark secret at the base of Mt Fuji, specifically a forest where police estimate that hundreds have committed suicide over the years. Apparently the mountain's curative effects can't reach everyone.
